CWAC Education

CWAC Education promotes Sexual Health Education as a life skill; we believe that such education should be a consistent part of every young person’s learning and that the earlier children & young people are encouraged to discuss their issues concerning Sexual Health Education the better; information should be appropriate to the needs, existing knowledge & experience of the children and young people.

Sexual Health and Awareness Workshops

CWAC believes that workshops are most beneficial when run in single gender groups; this allows CWAC to maximize the potential for open and honest discussion without fear of judgment from the opposite sex.

CWAC Education offers workshops that cover:

1. Definitions of HIV & AIDS.
2. Transmission of the HIV virus: this can include treatments, pregnancy issues; body image & self - respect, STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and where to go for confidential advice and support.
3. What constitutes Risky Behaviour?
4. Information about contraception and protection.
5. Case studies: Stigma and discrimination in relation to experiences of children and young people living with HIV in the UK.

Workshops can be tailor made to suit the needs of the group.

Basic HIV awareness workshops usually run for 1 hour although running times can be negotiated.

The cost of each 1 hour workshop is negotiable to discuss workshops please contact amena@cwac.org or phone
020 7033 8625.
